I serve as a neutral facilitator, working with groups in teambuilding and/or a large group planning process. I help teams to explore and develop their group process, individual behaviors, and overall accomplishments as they work together to achieve their goals.
Team Building: I facilitate a teambuilding process where team members find they are better able to work collaboratively towards their goals by practicing skills such as honest communication, active listening, and respect. I help participants to understand that productive teams are the result of an ongoing dedication to trust, clear goals, and commitment. Participants are usually surprised by how much they learn about themselves and each other when they come together with a commitment to being authentic and moving forward.
Large Group Planning Process: I particularly enjoy facilitating a process called Future Search Conference, designed by Marvin Weisbord and Sandra Janoff. This powerful, creative method brings together a diverse group of stakeholders (usually 60-70) who are all contributors to the issue chosen. The conference usually takes place over three days, during which the “whole system” is brought into the room, with the goal of finding common ground and planning concrete action steps. I actively facilitate large group discussions and provide the structure for the small group activities in which participants lead their own conversations and are responsible for the outcomes of these conversations. In addition to the designed action steps, participants often find themselves developing productive new relationships and a supportive personal and professional network.
